First 3 bags started fruiting through the little aeration holes in the bag (my sister, who was in charge of monitoring the cultures, didnt do a great job).

Now there are clusters emerging everywhere. I now moved the bags to the fruiting boxes, but my question is: what should i do tocorrect this? Should I pick the biggest cluster on each bag and try cut a bigger hole so it can finish growing through it? Or should I pick the smallest cluster? Should I remove the other clusters?

    Hi Jose,

yes, remove all these clusters that have started growing because their shape and form will not recover.

Then cut one or two holes (2-5cm) in each of the bags and place in your fruiting chamber.

They should recover fine and start to fruit properly within a few days.

    Exciting! Enjoy 🙂

Hey Adam, I kinda went against your advice and didn’t remove the malformed clusters, I only did that to the smallest ones, I think i read somewhere those are called ‘aborts’? Anyway, I left the stronger clusters develop and now they look like this:

The reason I left them was, I wanted to carry on all the way through to the far end of the mistake. I wanted to experience how malformed mushrooms developed. So no my question is, these are probably now ready to be harvested correct? Since the cap is the indicator, these caps probably wont grow much more since their curvature is now inward, is what I’m thinking.
