Hey, so, in the videos its crystal clear that the mix should be 1Kg coffee + 200gr straw + 150-200gr spawn to start with.
200gr of dry straw is quite different than 200gr wet straw, just wanted to confirm that when mixing, the suggestion is to add 200gr of wet straw.
Obviously one would not add dry straw to the mix, however if the straw mass is prepared before sterilizing, then it would become a whole lot more of wet-straw mass after sterilization.
Next week I’ll be mixing 5Kg of coffee + 1Kg spawn + 1Kg wet-straw. Would this be correct?
Ian says in the straw sterilization video, that 500gr of dry straw become 2Kg of saturated straw. So in my case, I should prepare 250-300gr of dry straw in order to end up with 1Kg of saturated straw right? This Kg I would then mix according to the proportions mentioned.
